about

Formed in 2007, experimental rock duo The Ugly Bishops only ever performed live at a small religious school in Illinois. They would cart their equipment in front of the school's chapel and play their insane progressive rock in an unannounced fashion which one student, listening from across the campus, said "sounded like thunder." They would play talent shows in the lobby of their dorm or open for bluegrass band concerts in student housing complexes. They played wherever the school would have them and wherever the school would not have them. After three years of terrorizing their fellow students, they disbanded in 2010.

Ten years later, they reformed to make their first ever recording. This semi-improvised album was made over two sessions at Jamdek in Chicago.
